Travelling to the 2018 SDO Science Workshop

International travelers are recommended to travel through Brussels airport or through the Brussels-South (Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel-Zuid) railway station connecting to all neighboring countries and airports with high speed trains.

From Brussels Airport to Ghent by train

You can reach the railway station without leaving the airport. Follow the signs. Use the search tool on the Belgian Railways website. Fill in: From "Bruxelles-Nat-Aeroport" To "Gent-Sint-Pieters", choose the date. Note:

From Brussels-South to Ghent by train

Use the search tool on the Belgian Railways website. Fill in : From " Bruxelles-Midi/Brussels-Zuid " To "Gent-Sint-Pieters", choose the date. A standard ticket (single, adult, second class) costs 9.30EUR, journey time: 30 min.

Additional information

Train tickets can be bought online or directly in the railway station. You can also buy a ticket on the train itself, but this will cost you 7EUR extra.

From Gent-sint-Pieters station to THAGASTE

Located right in the city centre, in the neighbourhood of the “Gravensteen” (Castle of the Counts of Flanders), THAGASTE (Trefpunt Augustijnen) is accessible with public transport. Directly from the railway station Ghent-St.-Pieters: take Tram 1, direction Flanders Expo-Wondelgem, stop “Gravensteen”. Journey time is 15 min. Info tram.
